Now a real update...kinda...the semester's almost over and thats kinda scary because im definitely not ready for exams. I havent done as well this semester as i would have liked but i will survive and so will my parents. I think my expectations for myself are too high because of much easier it was to do in high school without actually having to do too much. Turkey Break was a good time...i got to see a bunch of people that i love (like heather star and gonz and michelle and rachel...) and i got to play mario party. I think i went through video game withdrawal when i first got school, so im glad i got that boost. My family is crazy but it's all good...and i got to spend time with my sister and thats good cuz she's cool and stuff...I have never seen so many college kids in one place as i saw in the charlotte airport on my way home though, it was pretty crazy. Im excited for winter break to see people i havent seen in a while, and im going to new orleans to clean my grandmother's house and im going to israel...it should be a good break. Im a little nervous about my schedule for next semester but i have 3 day weekends every week so i guess it will all be okay. Okay, now im off to read for my next class and work on final papers and shit like that. I have exams in less than 2 weeks and that's definitely not okay with me...where did this semester goooo???? I told her that i was excited to add my personal insight to public housing projects to our discussion for friday...she was thrilled about that. Im actually excited for the paper i have to write in that class because of my odd obsession with the vietnam war. Damn, im weird. Im going home in a weeeeeeek...super weird. Tampa people, or anyone who happens to be in Tampa (Gonz, cappy, michelle, heather, im talking to you...) we need to do stuff or something cuz i missy you guyssss! I bought my tickets for HP4 for friday...im super excited because this book was my favorito, yaaay!!! Okay...off to watch a movie in my bed for an hour until i go eat with maddie. 04:25 pm I have not updated in a looong time, and i knew that everyone who reads this (which is nobody) is really disappointed but this so i thought this would be a good time to talk about myself to...well....myself! Lots has happened since the 21st of september...like pachanga the most devilish of the devils and going to Maine and stuff like that...Let's see...we'll start at the beginning. You think Im joking, but i just got my planner out so i could see everything exciting that happened since my last entry! Like i said, pachange is the devil...moving right along to the next week... My suite rocks, we have sooo much fun and i take waaaay too many pictures of us. I like to dress up like a bear (aka, wrap myself in a big brown blanket and run around screaming IM A BEAR!) and elizabeth is an amazon woman, the first amazon woman EVER to have her own cow (AKA julia dressed in cow print pajamas walking around all fours pretending to be milked). Wow...i just realized that that whole story probably sounds completely ridiculous and you should just disregard it... I went to Maine for the first time EVER with elizabeth for rosh hashanah last week. I met her entire family which was pretty awesome because they were funny and crazy and everyone likes crazy jewish people. I also got to meet some of her friends which was pretty rockin...They were fun and give me the ability to watch videos of into the woods and say "HEY, i know that kid!!" This weekend was weird...we went to the "less you wear, less you pay" dance. It was good fun, I got to walk in the freezing rain wearing a skirt and a bikini top. Thats always good fun! It was just excuse for people to get naked which is also always a good time. BUT, it only furthered the idea that school sponsored events and rosie south 401 do not mix so well. But then again, the night before that didnt involve school sponosred things and was also very awkward and odd...maybe it's just our suite... I was suppossed to go see the decemberists tonight BUT it was sold out. BUT WAIT! They are gonna be in Rhode Island in november so maddie and i are totally gonna go. AND, it's only gonna be 10 bucks, is that amazing or what. Everyone wins! I am going to miami next weekend...i need to figure out how im getting to the airport...Bah, no i dont...i gots lots of time...What i dont have lots of time for is getting to class, which i have soon...oh the jews of arab , lands, you are so fascinating... AAAHHH i almost left out the best part of everest...i get to get harrassed by scheming people who try and buy my desktop cuz i bought a laptop....yaaaaay! 01:54 pm - Happy First Day of Fall!!! I dont think i am ever going to change my clothes again...2 people (within like a 10 minute span) told me i looked like i lost a "bitch load of weight." Well those were molly jane's words but the other person said basically the same thing. That makes me feel happy beyond anything because i get down sometimes about the work i put into my weight and how it looks like nothing is coming of it...WHOOOHOOOO. But that first statement is a lie because i will probably be changing my clothes right after this so i can do crunches but then put this same outfit back on... This semester is my "become more active in stuff" semester and so far it's going well. I have started tutoring a lady that works here in english (she's learning...she's from bolivia) and i am going to help plant an organic (kind of) garden and im going to volunteer at soup kitchens and stuff in waltham. BUT, im worried that maybe im doing too much. Im still gonna be able to get my work done and all that good stuff, but im not able to go to the gym as much. I dont know..i guess i should sit down and figure out my schedule and all that good stuff... My parents are on a cruise right now, which is kind of frightening because there is a hurricane quite close to them...eh, they'll be fine. I talked to my crazy granny last night on the phone because she's staying at my house and has my mom's cell phone. She was telling me about this new kind of ping pong she's been playing and how it's such a good workout and she told me a joke but i wasnt really listening and so she was really surprised at the end when i didnt laugh...shes just crazy that woman is...capella, jess, you know what's im talking about... Julia's brother is visiting this weekend, so that should be fun...i have a paper to write though, and that's really not so fun...I ate an apple today from the c-store without washing it, i hope i dont die. Okay...i gots to go do some crunches and some reading, you know...be productive and stuff during this four hour period between classes...GAH! PEACE OUT!!! 03:21 pm Wow...life is so great...everything is going really well for me. Most of my classes are good (one of them is kinda boring...) and my suite is great and im getting involved in clubs and such...Everything is just super duper awesome. Sometimes i have trouble getting my work done because it's just much more fun to play with my suite-mates...but im working on it... We had a party here last night...it was super successful with lots of people. I think people really had fun (at least that's what they say) and we didnt have any troubles with the CAs or public safety and such. I was the bouncer because im so scary and people dont want to mess with me. I turned people away and it actually felt quite cool...im such a bad ass, what can i say? I have sooo much reading to do...my body is yelling at me to sit still...i guess i will read for a bit and then try and go to the gym later. AAAHHHH....i dont want to read!!!! OOOOh, self control...i need some work on that!! My poor camera died this week and i bought a new one last night on ebay. I should have waited because there were auctions that ended this morning that had the same camera for like 25 bucks less...damn...im such a dumb ass. owell....i hope my new camera is cool and comes soon because this whole no camera thing is really rough... 07:44 pm I havent updated this bitch in a long ass time...sorry about that...no i take it back, im not really sorry and you know you werent really upset about it!! Lots has happened since my last update. We had a night of suite bonding which was amazing. Lots of super good pictures from that...im thinking of getting one of those photo bucket accounts or whatever cuz the pictures are just that good...I finally figured out my schedule. The stupid bitch of a spanish professor didnt let me into her class so i had to drop pilates and im now taking a near eastern and judaic studies class that counts as my humanities and non-western requirement, which is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me! I signed up for a bunch of clubs...i have my first meeting tonight at 10 (because environmentalists like to do it late...) and im pretty excited about that. OOOh, the boat cruise...how could i forget about that! Orientation is officially over (well, since sunday) and it was awesome and the boat cruise on sunday night was awesome and involved a lot of sweaty dancing for 3 hours and me being super excited that i dont have to wear that orange shirt anymore!! HOOOOOORAh! Now i have lots more free time to go to the gym and sit around and do nothing and update my lj!! Life is super super good. Everything is going really well for me right now. I have amazing friends and im loving everyone in my life right now because in the past 3 weeks i have gotten closer to some really awesome people. My suite is amazing and all the girls are soo much fun...we do exciting things like spying on the hot-bodied guys that live on the top floor of the building next to us...Classes are good, im ready to declare my major (as soon as i stop being lazy and actually go to kutz to get the form...) 01:45 pm Ive been trying to decide whether i want to add another class to my schedule or not...today i decided NOt! Instead im gonna join lots of clubs and be active and meet more people cuz that's the cool thing today. I added myself to a bunch club mailing lists including a club that teaches you how to determine if wines are good by smelling, looking, and tasting...im super excited about that because i have always wanted to learn how to do that. I learned some stuff from my dad...but not enough...im want to be a wine expert. I hear yale or some ivy league school has a wine tasting class and it's the class with the most students and also has the highest number of failures....yaaaah ivy leagues... I was gonna go take the phys ed test today so i can pass out of them but i decided against that. I guess it's still kinda up in the air...but im just not feeling it today and im thinking im only going to be in better shape by january when i can take it again...so that's cool. I will kill myself if for any reason i miss the test in the spring though, so maybe i should just do it today. Damn...making decisions sucks... Classes start tomorrow...that feels weird...I dont know why though. I definitely do not have all my books but i dont think that will be too big of a deal seeing as how i wouldnt need my books on the very first day anyway. I hope they come soon though...eh...whatever. 07:23 pm Officially been at brandeis for a week...even though it seems like i have been here a loooot longer. Not so much in a bad way...it's just weird. My mom called me yesterday and asked me what i did that day and i honestly could not remember because the days are soo long and we do soo much. I actually got a good nights sleep so im not soo exhausted...i guess my aide group is right and it's weird to think all the OLs are killing themselves and not really getting tangible benefits... Everyone is moved in on cmapus now. It's weird seeing sooo many people around and it's weirder when you see people and you're not sure how you should say hello to them. Are you suppossed to hug them even though you didnt talk all summer or ask them what they did over the summer and ask all the questions that everyone asks but nobody really cares about the answers...weird...the whole thing's just weird... Im glad there are actually people in the suite now though...much more color and noise and excitement. I cant wait until we figure out how we're doing the common room and buy posters and stuff to add some color...hopefully a suite trip to target is in the cards for this weekend...YAAAY target!!!
